Range

They are found throughout the eastern U.S. west to the Rocky Mountains and in southern Canada.

Habitat

They live in forests, fruit orchards, and yards.

Body Traits

Adult moths are brown with white stripes on front wings.

Habits

Caterpillars swarm in thick webs in tree branches in the spring. They can hurt fruit trees.

Diet

They eat leaves, often on cherry and apple trees.
