Kids in the Rainforest with Structures and Functions – Critical Thinking Activity

People are also animals. We are different colors, shapes, and sizes too. Yet, all people have similar body parts. We see, hear, and grasp things in similar ways. We can move from place to place. We need to eat food, drink water, and breath air – just like all animals. Examine the picture below of the kids exploring in the rainforest.

Answer the following questions.
1) What things are each of the kids holding?
2) How are each of things they are holding helpful to them?
3) How do their body parts help them move through the forest?
4) If they get hungry, what kinds of things might they eat?
5) What body structures would they use to search for things in the forest?
