Ways That Plants and Animals Can Change Their Environment in the Rainforest – Matching

Talk to young students about the ways that plants and animals change their environment while looking at the illustrated diagrams. Then ask them to match the ways plants and animals change their environment below to what they see in the accompanying illustrated answer sheet and write in the numbers. 1. Animals hunt for prey. 2. Trees grow bigger and make shade and provide food and shelter for animals. 3. Animals eat and collect seeds. 4. Birds build nests or dig tree holes. 5. Plants make flowers to attract pollinators. 6. Insects pollinate flowers. 7. Animals dig burrows for their young. 8. Animals bury food for eating later. Some sprout. 9. Seeds sprout into trees.
