They are found in rich, wet soils, often in big groups.

Description

The bark is gray, smooth with blotches. The pointed leaves are 2½ -5 inches long. They are toothed. They have yellow-green flowers that hang in bunched (clusters). The fruit is two nuts inside a prickly husk.
